Sometimes...

I just want to curl up into a little ball and sleep all day.
Sometimes...
I don't want to go to work. Ever again. lol
Sometimes...
I miss living at home with my family. Even if they're a little crazy.
Sometimes...
I just want to throw Kyle and Dexter into our car and start driving. Idk where I would want to go, but I just crave adventure.

Othertimes...
I'm totally grateful for my job, being able to support myself, our apartment, and the coziness of my life.

I guess it's just a personal struggle...trying to balance my need for adventure, and my desire to be a house cat. Maybe one day I'll be perfectly balanced out?

Weekend Warriors

I had so much fun this past weekend! Omied and Mike got here around 12am Thursday morning, and we kicked the weekend off with playing "Last Night On Earth" (Thanks Sahar!) which is this really intense/hard strategy zombie game. I had Friday-Sunday off, so the rest of the weekend was made up with lots of touristy things like going to Pike's Place Market, the International District, the University District, Phinney Ridge, etc. etc.

Saturday night, we had a little party, and it was lots of fun! In addition to Omied and Mike (and of course me, Kyle, Jenny & Diego) Carly, Caitlin, Scott and Danny also came by to par-tay! There was lots of margaritas & beer floating about! We played Kings Cup, Concentration, and drunk Scattegories (because we're awesome)!

It was so fun having people over, and it seems as if Carly & Caitlin got along well enough that Jenny and I can have girl dates/nights with them! Woo Hoo! :D

Sunday was also a lot of fun, the only downside was the fact that our lunch totally sucked :( Ok Noodle (one of our favorite restaurants) was taking a break until 5pm, and we were starving, so we tried a brand new place a few restaurants up...and it was pretty lame. The portions were tiny, our drinks were mediocre, and the food was pretty mediocre. Omied and Kyle were the only ones who actually enjoyed their food, and that was because they got sushi...so maybe it'll be a place where they can get sushi...but honestly, I don't think we'll ever go back!

Last night, me, Mike, Omied, and Kyle all went out for drinky-drinks...we ended up going to the Highline because it was late and I was hungry, and it's really the best choice for me that late at night, lol...it was a lot of fun. Kyle really enjoyed the beer they got (Maddy's) and my Strawberry Fields was even better than the last time I got it (tough to believe, I know!) After eating and drinking, we decided to be merry over by the Air Hockey table! I don't know what it was, but I kicked so much ass! Seriously, I went "around the world" twice...to the point where the guys all started cheating and making up unfair scores, but jokingly, of course. They all know I wiped the floor with their faces, lol. It was pretty awesome :] I'm also fairly certain that the Highline had never seen such an intsense Air Hockey tournament...seriously, every couple of minutes, the puck was flying off of the table and out somewhere! My knuckles and my middle finger nail took quite a beating, but that didn't stop the ass whopping...alright, I guess that's enough gloating!

I'll post pictures when I'm not at work, because there are many epic ones, lol :)

I am here!

I know it doesn't appear that way sometimes, but I promise you, I am still here, I still live and breathe! I haven't disappeared, I swear!

My life is rather boring (yes, the same old complaint), I am going to work, doing school work, and taking care of Dexter (so I have very little "me" time!). I can't find anytime to just sit and muse on my thoughts, because my furry little beastie just doesn't comprehend sitting still and just being, haha. He is getting much better at "self soothing" and just playing on his own, but when he rushes over to me so excited and happy just to play with me, I can't help but devote all my free time to him! We spend a lot of time outdoors, though to be honest, he always needs to be pushed a little further on our walks, mostly because he'd rather be at home playing with his toys and Kyle. Our family snuggles on the couch are highlights of my day ^^ nothing like cuddling up with my favorite boys!

Lately we've been having "puppy parties" out on the lawn with the other puppies in our apartment complex. It's so nice to be able to socialize Dexter with other people and dogs on a daily basis without having to go too far. This morning he went potty despite the gardner's scary loud lawnmowers :) Also, we are down to no accidents/1 accident every couple of days, and let me tell you, it is great having a potty trained pup!

Life outside of Dexter related things is pretty boring. Kyle and I are doing well, aside from a slightly off day yesterday. But, really, nothing to be worried about, just a lot of stress leading to bursting of emotions, leading to lots of apologies, flowers, and make up cuddles. Life is tough, but I can't imagine my life without the man I love!

In other news, my bridesmaid dress came in the mail today, and to my surprise, it looks fabulous on me! You know when you buy clothes online that look amazing, and then you get them and try them on, and they look mediocre/awful? That's what I was afraid was going to happen...but I'm proud to report that the color is lovely, the cut is flattering, and it fits like a glove! Annnndd, if I ever get around to finding time to exercise and lose a little weight, it'll still fit...maybe even better! :)

Speaking of clothes, I will soon be the proud owner of a cute little piece of lingerie made by my oh-so-talented friend Yanira! Check out her company Madam Mignon on etsy! Or twitter, or blogger, or tumblr! Whatever strikes your fancy! She is amazing at what she does, and I hope success finds her way! She and her boyfriend Lee will be moving up to Seattle next year, and I'm SO excited! She's just one of those people I adore! Like the "makes me smile every time I see them" kind of adore! What's fantastic is that Jenny also adores her, so I'm very much looking forward to our future girl group :)

Carly and I keep trying to go skating, with no success :( If it's not my life getting in the way, it is hers...and it sucks! Because I think she'd be a great derby partner...and by partner I mean someone who will attempt to join derby with me! Oh, speaking of new friends, Jenny's friend Caitlin recently moved to Olympia (like a few weeks ago) and we all had so much fun when she came to visit us! Jenny and I want to throw a little Halloween party...which will probably only consist of me, Kyle, Jenny, Diego, Carly, Caitlin...and maybe Diego's friend Scott, lol ...but that counts as enough people for a party, right? Maybe if we call it a "kick-back" or a "get-together" it'll sound less pathetic, lol.

Speaking of Halloween, we are all quite excited for the upcoming holiday! Our balcony is pimped out with fake spidey webs, and hanging pumpkin/ghost lights ^^ it's pretty cute! We also bought a little Halloween banner, and a table runner, just for fun! Oh, and not to mention our cute skull Halloween cups! I'll post pictures when I find them, lol...

p.s. I feel so bad because I always say I'm going to post pictures, and then I don't...yes, I'm pretty lame! :(

p.p.s. don't you just LOVE this clutch!

Yes, I said clutch! Based on book covers! Oh, Kate Spade, I like your style!

Kyle Anthony Mafnas!

Yesterday was Mr. Mafnas' 21st birthday, and it was quite a happy birthday if I do say so myself, haha :)

A quick summary of the day's events:

I made him brunch consisting of vegan french toast, hash browns, and veggie sausages...with coffee and a hint of love :)

For presents he received his much needed phone case (he lost the microfiber case it came with), it is pretty neat, and doubles as a stand if he wants it to. I also bought him the car kit for his phone, so that he no longer endangers his/our lives while driving and looking at the gps at the same time, hehe :) Love letters, and a very special afternoon of games also count as presents, at least in my book :)

For dinner we went to this cute/fun restaurant over in Ballard called La Isla...it was Puerto Rican/Carribean cuisine, and Kyle ordered his first legal drink (I don't count the beer he bought at midnight) a classic Mojito, and I had a Carribean Crush...which amounted to be too much of a drink for me (it was quite harsh, but it was just a bunch of rum...including Bacardi 151!) so we switched, also because I like lime more than he does :)

For Dessert I had baked him the most awesome cake ever! I took our prized special sammich (peanutbutterbananacinnamon) and turned it into a Cakewich! I ordered the bread mold online, and it was basically a giant yummy cake, that blew his mind, as I knew it would :D

I forgot the camera at home during dinner :( but we took pictures with his phone! So I'll post those when I get a hold of them :)

So, here's to you babe! You are my sunshine in this overcast city of ours, and you make me feel golden! I love you! I hope you enjoyed your birthday :)

p.s. in case you're wondering why I'm so awful with posting pictures recently, I realized I've yet to whine and complain about how I dropped my laptop while an SD card was in the slot, and got it jammed in there...and then after being able to remove it, my slot is having trouble reading cards...as in it doesn't do it anymore :(

Hello, friend!

I know, I know...I used to be so good to you little blog! I used to fill you up with pictures and words, and you'd hold onto those memories for me and share them with whoever came across them.

But lately, I've been cold, and distant, I haven't given you any attention :(

So, honestly, I apologize, and please let me try to make it up to you!

First, you should know that life is currently still really busy, when I'm not at work, I'm at home working, so there is very little down time for me to decompress and blab about my life. This past week has been pretty fun...Jenny and I made a joint dinner, and it was pretty damn tasty! She made these bomb veggie potstickers, and I made General Tso's Tofu with broccoli and bell peppers :) We went to Gasworks park, as well as Volunteer park...we went up the water tower and there was a beautiful view of the city at sunset :)

Kyle, Dexter and I had a fun adventure day...we went out to our secret spot and played with the flying squirrel (his Frisbee like toy), then we walked to Petsmart where we bought his raincoat. It hasn't rained since we bought it, but I'll post pictures of him in his coat soon, it's ridiculously cute!

We played a game of King's Cup with Four Lokos...which turned out to be a bad idea for me personally, hah. I drank too much and got sick :( I have a good alcohol tolerance, up until a certain point, which I normally don't break, honestly, the last time I was drunk and threw up was over a year ago when Kyle and I were still living in San Diego! But anyway...

Today is Sanya's birthday! He's been my best friend for so long, and it sucks because I honestly haven't seen him since last winter break :( But, I bought him this great CD of an artist that I LOVE, and the only place to buy their album (it's their first) is at this little local music store, so I know he'll really enjoy it :)

Saturday is Linda's birthday! My parents are meeting her and Chris out in Vegas (she's there for business right now and is just extending her stay to include her birthday, because really, why not? haha) I wish I could meet up with them :( But, I bought her this adorable clutch from Matt by Matt & Nat that I saw on their website, and it is just SO her :)

Kyle's birthday is in 8 days! It's so exciting! I possibly have an amazing surprise being set up for him, fingers crossed that things work out...and I actually know what I want to get him for his birthday, haha :)

Anyway, that's my story for now! I'm just gonna sit here, enjoy my day while eating some cookies (Skydottier=best cookies evah!) and my berry applesauce :)
