Sarah Marie Dozier

~Our Senior Prom '07~
On this glorious day, 21 years ago, my beautiful best friend was born, Sarah Marie Dozier (soon to be Durr)! Her lovely mother gave birth to my soul mate, and so I'm forever thankful. Let me clarify, I know Kyle is my soul mate in the romantic sense, but Sarah and I's souls are the different sides of the same coin. She's beautiful, intelligent, and sorry lads, engaged to a man who's her romantic soul mate :)

Dearest Egyptian twin sister goddess, Sehkmet, I love you, and I hope your day is fantastic in every way possible! You're absolutely brilliant, and I can't wait for us to be reunited this verano! Me+You+drinks+sunshine=Summer of Loooove! hahaha! Also, please let's get inked, celebrating our 7 year relationship? :D

Besitos,
Bastie Boo

p.s. we need to take more pictures together! haha

My name is Setareh, and...

I'm not an alcoholic! I don't drink on a regular basis, hell, I don't usually drink at all unless it's a social event...but I have this incredibly urge to learn how to make fun/fancy beverages...I can't help it, I just want to learn how to infuse vodka, and how to make cocktails. I bought a shaker and everything!

Then I came to realize that none of our local grocery stores have any hard alcohol...after honestly spending a good portion of a night driving around checking all the grocery stores, we decided that there must be some law prohibiting them selling hard alcohol! We looked it up, and so there is...I don't really like liquor stores, but I guess that's where we're going to have to go in order to stock up and be able to commence my experiments. I wouldn't mind the liquor stores so much, but I have to go alone since K's still a few months away from turning 21...so I'm going to have to man up if I want to learn how to make fancy drinks!

Tomorrow we venture to one of the state-owned and operated liquor stores, well, Kyle will drive and I'll probably go in alone so as not to get into any trouble. I'll just go in, but some Senor Cuervo for Margaritas, some Captain for Rum + __________ and some Smirnoff, and I think we'll be set!

Maybe after our liquor run, my dreams of mastering cosmopolitans and margaritas will come true :)

Tattoo Tales

Lots of people ask me about my tattoo...they wonder what it means, what it is, and mostly, they just want to look at it. It's actually not even done, it needs to be colored and touched up. Luckily, my brother's currently in the process of learning the art of tattooing, so hopefully, he'll finish it for me :)

Here are some pictures while in the process:

Let's talk about what the actual tattoo first...it is a heart-shaped pocket watch metaphorically representing what makes my heart tick. Happiness, love, peace, equality, natural beauty. It was drawn for me by my older brother, and a lot of it is just his interpretation of who I am. I got it on my twentieth birthday, and after twenty years of figuring out who I am and what I believe in, this tattoo pretty much explains it all. It took 3 hrs, and was done by my brother's friend Leo :)

This tattoo is the first of what I wanted to be a 10 year process. I wanted to get a heart-shaped tattoo every year around my birthday to symbolize what the year meant to me. Eventually, I'd have two decades worth of memories on my back. I based this all off of my favorite Gandhi quote: "Where there is love, there is life" which I want to get either at the bottom of the rest of my tattoos, or along side this big one.

For this year, I want to get a little post-card inspired heart, from San Diego, to Seattle, with love. When Kyle and I get married, I want to get a puzzle-inspired heart, and our initials on two of the pieces...but all the other years could be anything...

In addition to these, I want to get a matching tattoo with my sou lmate Sarah Dozier :) considering we've been planning on doing so since like junior year of high school! I also want to get a henna-styled star with the words "alcanzar las estrellas" in memory of my parents and my heritage.

After these few essential tattoos, I promise I'll be done, haha :)

Oh boy!

24 days until Kyle and I's 2 year anniversary!

We've been together for 730 days! It feels like it hasn't been that long, yet simultaneously like we've been together forever!

I have no idea what to get him! lol, but I never really have any "good" ideas...I have a bunch of super cheesy ideas...lol Luckily he doesn't mind super cheesy :)
He's like impossible to surprise though, especially since we live together...hopefully he'll get on a really bad sleep schedule sometime right before the big day so I can work on his presents while he sleeps, lol

Sigh, but still, I don't even know what I'd plan for us. Especially since I'm 99% sure I have work that Monday...

Guys have it so easy >.< all they have to do is make us a CD or buy us pretty jewelry...clothes or shoes...or just make some cheesy card full of "____ reasons why I love you" sort of stuff, and we love it!

But what do you get your boyfriend for a special occasion? I got him that cute ring with our initials on it for Valentine's day...I should've waited, haha.

Oh well, we'll see if I can come up with something good...wish me luck? haha

Birthday Pictures!

Palm Pre Plus!

Dear new Palm Pre Plus,
You're my newest, prettiest friend (no offense ladies)! I haven't been on my lappy since friday because Kyle left the power plug for our wifi router in SD, but with my new phone (and of course, data plan) I can now do it all from here! :)
What's funny/awesome is that while we were at the AT&T store, the representative we were talking to was so impressed by Kyle's knowledge, that he told him to apply for a job and gave him his info so he could write him down as a referral! Isn't that randomly cool? He'd get great benefits, reimbursed for his schooling, and awesome discounts :) Plus what better job for Kyle than helping people pick out phones? (well, for now at least!) We were suppose to have a picnic today, but we spent so much time at the store we really ran out of time...oh well :) I'm sure there will be another nice day for picnics and picture taking :)

Updates (cont'd)

Tuesday, May 11th

I always think of Josh Agler on May 11th since it's his birthday...I hope he's doing well, he was dealt a tough set of cards...he's definitely one of those friends who I wished I still talked to :/

Anyway, Tuesday I decided I wanted to take another bath, haha :D Then I spent some time with my Mommy, we picked up Sahar from school, then we (Omied, too) went to Pat & Oscars for lunch. Kyle went and had lunch with his friends, in a last supper sort of way, lol. Somehow, we ended up really behind on time. We stopped by my Dad's place so I could say bye. Then we went home, realized how far behind we were, and I quickly packed. I kind of forgot that people might buy me stuff for my birthday, so I didn't really plan to have space for presents! But after rearranging stuff, and putting stuff in an extra bag Sahar let me borrow, we were all set. We had forgotten to call/check into our flight the day before (I honestly didn't think anything of it!) so we were hoping to make it onto the last flight out of SD (we initially planned on trying for the 2nd to last flight, but alas, we just barely missed it). The Southwest representative discovered that the flight had been canceled, so he had to call over his supervisor to figure out how the people from the other flight were going to make it to Seattle. After some shuffling, he got us on a flight to Oakland at 7:15pm, and then said there'd be a plane waiting for us, it was the "rescue" plane taking the people who would be stuck in Oakland for 2 hrs to Seattle. So we went home and puttered around for a little bit, Kyle took a quick nap. Then we were back at the airport. We hopped onto the plane, and actually had really good seats. I even ordered a drink on the plane, just because I could, lol. I bought a screwdriver...and once again, I wasn't carded! The only time the entire weekend I had been carded was getting into the 21+ show, and I didn't even get a drink while I was there! lol Anyway, we got off the plane, and there was a special announcement for us to hurry towards the other plane. In the airport, there was another announcement, lol, and once we were in sight of the gate, the attendant asked if Kyle was Kyle Mafnas, so they were really on the look out for us, haha. We slept on that flight as well, pretty tired from the weekend. We landed and then remembered that we had parked in the airport and prepared to pay hundreds of dollars...I was waiting in the car, and Kyle came back with a huge smile on his face. Apparently, when he was walking over to the machine to pay, he found a ticket on the ground, and whomever it belonged to had paid for the weekend, then dropped it, but he didn't see that, so he put it into the machine, so we only paid for 13hrs of parking! :)

We went home, watched the Ricky Gervais show we had missed, then I went to bed, totally exhausted, haha
And that pretty much summarizes our weekend in San Diego! I know i didn't post any pictures, but I don't have my memory card with me, so I'll have to post those another time! :)

Updates (cont'd)

Sunday, May 9th:

After making it home at who knows what time (seriously, I didn't look at the clock once, lol) and sleeping the drunkenness off, lol, I woke to the sounds of my Mommy making brunch. I don't know why Michael doesn't believe me, but I don't have hangovers, so I was wide awake and happy :) My Mom made Calavaseado (sp?) which is just zucchini, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes fried together with turmeric, pepper, and a bit of salt. She even bought some soy cheese to top it :) She also made some rosemary roasted red potatoes :)

After eating, I opened my presents, and of course, my mom had scheduled us to get massages (I knew she would, lol). We got ready super quick, when we realized we only had an hr before our appointment, haha. Kyle and I went to see his Mommy, we stopped and bought her flowers and a slice of her favorite pie from Coco's. I couldn't stay very long, but I did open my present and said a quick hello! :) Then I rushed home to get my mom, we hopped in the car, and after talking on the phone saying we'd be late, we found out that our appointment was for 5pm, not 4pm, lol. The massage was so relaxing! Though my massage therapist apologized for not being able to get my knots completely out, lol. It was a head-to-toe massage, and let me just say, I love head massages, and feet massages :) We were going to go to my Tio's friend's house for a Mother's day party...but my Mom decided that she'd rather just go out to dinner the family (and Kyle of course) because the party would just be a bunch of my Tio Rudy's friends, and we wouldn't be able to talk. So, we went to Casa Guadalajara in Old Town! We picked up Kyle on our way over to the restaurant, and really had a nice time. I ordered my first legal drink (in the US at least, I ordered a drink when we went to Vancouver B.C.  but that doesn't really count, lol) a strawberry Margarita (have I mentioned how much I love Margaritas? lol) and my Mom got a raspberry Margarita. What's funny is that our waiter didn't even card me. My Mom made a joke about it, and then he asked to see it, so I got a pity carding, lol. Kyle bought me a rose from the guy who walks around with roses, and my dad bought my Mom a rose too :) Then the waiter brought out flan for me, and even flan for my Mom too! I love having my birthday on Mother's day, mostly because I love my Mommy so much :) and we get to do fun Mother-Daughter stuff, lol.

We went home, and Kyle received a text from Diego (maybe?) inviting us to go see Iron Man 2, so we rushed over to Mission Valley and watched the movie with him, Jenny, Scott, Anders, Sean, and a guy who's name I don't know and never heard (lol). The movie was okay, but it wasn't as good as the first one. Then I went home to sleep, lol

Monday, May 10th:
I woke up and decided I wanted to try out my Mom's jacuzzi bath tub, lol. I poured in some bubble mix, and oh man, how relaxing. I can't believe they installed that right after I moved out! :( I don't know if I would've left San Diego if I was allowed to use that whenever I wanted! lol, Anyway, then Michael, Nicole & Richard came over around 1pm. I took them to the garage to meet Fenris, and of course Michael didn't make it completely into the garage, lol. But I understand, his sweater would've been covered in dog hair, he's currently shedding like crazy, lol. Shortly after, we decided we wanted to go out for lunch, then Chris I. came over. So we all went to Ruby's. Kyle and I split the Guacamole veggie burger (yum!). Michael made a little paper man out of the paper straw cover, lol, and we placed him in a basket that still had some ketchup, making it look like he'd been shot...also, apparently Michael has the sense of humor of a 6 yr old. Everytime the ketchup bottle made "farting" noises, he couldn't stop laughing! hahaha...then we all went home and played with the Wii for a little bit.

I couldn't hang out for very long because Sahar's friends would be coming over soon. I managed to choreograph her ENTIRE waltz (for her Quinceanera). It was kind of amazing, and they mostly have it down! One of the boys couldn't make it to practice, but the other three were doing really well. :) After they all left, I left to go meet up with Kyle's family for dinner at Souplantation. Dinner was fun, it was nice catching up! We randomly ran into Josh Tidwell, who was there with his mom. Apparently he's getting married this August and is moving to LA with his soon-to-be-bride and going to CSU Northridge. It's kind of crazy how old we're all getting! Kyle's little brother is graduating from PHHS in June, and he's going to Northern Arizona University. Sahar's going to be a sophomore. Every time I look on Facebook it looks like someone's getting married, pregnant, or graduating! Whew!

After dinner and goodbyes, we went and picked up Sean. Dropped off Chris I. Then headed over to the Ruines Ov Abaddon show at the Radio Room. It was my first 21+ show, lol :) It was great seeing all the guys, and the show was pretty amazing! The acoustics aren't that good, but hey, it was a free show. This one guy was super drunk, and came over and put his arm around me :/ lol and he eventually started the mosh pit...but not in a good way, lol. He made Rashaun really mad...and he's HUGE, like 6 foot something, and all muscles, haha. The drunk guy looked like Mr. Clean, lol he was bald, short, and his arms were really buff...it he was wearing a white t-shirt and had an earring, they could've been twins! Anyway, Mr. Clean ran straight into Rashaun one too many times (Rashaun loves moshing too, but I could tell this guy was getting on his nerves) and Rashaun pushed him so hard he fell right onto his back...but he got back up, and tried pushing Rashaun again, and then it was personal, lol. Rashaun charged at him, I honestly was worried at that point, he was really angry, and at least twice his size. The sound guy made an announcement that it wasn't Ozzfest (lol) and that moshing was alright, but not to push people who didn't want to be pushed. But this guy was just either really stubborn, or so out of it he couldn't stop, lol. Another guy (a friend, I'm assuming) had to escort him out. Aside from being stepped on a few times, I was fine, and Sean had a lot of fun, lol :)

After the show, we went to Sombrero's because Sean and Kyle were hungry. There was this guy there (who looked a lot like this guy we know, lol) who was completely out of it. He was totally passed out, waking up every now and then, I felt bad for him. I wonder how he got there...maybe he walked there...hopefully people didn't abandon him there :/  Anyway, we went home to find Omied in the kitchen eating food. We had a long conversation and created a new genre of music (Batmetal!) hahaha :) I miss our ridiculous conversations...after that we went to sleep.

Updates (cont'd)

Saturday, May 8th:
Saturday morning we went over to the Leyton's house for a pancake breakfast :) I brought them some chocolates from the shop and The Lightening Thief because I'm a nerd and give out books for presents, lol. Breakfast was super yummy, and it was great to see my little family :) The boys are so cute, they can't get enough of Kyle! But poor Kyle, he didn't get that much time to catch up/talk with the adults, lol. We did strawberry/blackberry pancakes (yum!) and ate out on the patio (it was a gorgeous day!). Kyle spent most of the time with the boys, at one point, for some reason or another, the boys were playing in the recycling bin. Alena and I were just talking about stuff, and all of a sudden she starts laughing, I turn around, and from the living room window we see Kyle with the recycling bin in tow. The boys are on a psuedo-roller coaster ride inside the bin! haha...Kyle brings them back around and says he never knew recycling bins could be so fun, and that he apparently really missed out as a kid! lol. It was so great to see them! :) The boys are getting so big! Drew had a mohawk! lol well, a fauxhawk, to be technical, but he looks so cute! James got into gate, and was only 2 points away from seminar, so they're trying to get him into seminar. Which, really, is where he belongs, he's so intelligent. For my presents, I got a bottle of Merlot, and some freshwater pearl earrings from the Philippines :) They really spoil me, haha

After some sad goodbyes, we went back to my house and puttered around for a bit because Sahar still wasn't ready (ugh, lol). We decided to go swimming at Kyle's old complex, so we (Omied and Fenris too) all got into the Minivan and made our way. Diego and Sean went swimming with us, and overall it was pretty fun. Poor Fenris really wanted to go swimming with us, but we tied him to the bench and he sat and watched. The water felt amazing, it was a really hot day! And I even got a bit of a tan (woo!). We went into the jacuzzi once we were done swimming, and we were just sitting there. All of a sudden, Kyle is freaking out and telling me to look at Sahar, I turn and blue boogers are coming out of her nose! We tell her, and of course she doesn't believe us, then when she can tell we're being serious, she refuses to show Sean, Diego, and Omied...so they probably don't believe us, but it's true! Afterwards, we all went our separate ways until dinner time. I went home and got ready, I had the cutest outfit you've ever seen, lol. I don't have my memory card with me, but I'll post an entire entry devoted photos from the weekend :) Claire came over, and after a bunch of girly screams and present opening we all got in the car (minus Fenris) and went over to Sipz for dinner.

Our table was kind of ridiculous, lol. Everyone came to dinner (well, almost everyone) and it was so much fun :) Diego, Jenny, Martin, Anders, Claire, Chrissy, Chris, Ben, Joaquin, his quiet girlfriend who's name escapes me, Chris I. and his girlfriend Nicole, and of course, Me, Kyle, Omied, and Sahar. After we finished eating, they brought out a piece of chocolate cake, candle included, and of course singing. lol After we finished eating, we made our way over to Ben's place. On our way, we stopped by my parent's house to pick up a blender, the vegan cake my mommy made me, and to drop off Sahar. The boys went to pick up alcohol, we went to the party. It was kinda slow at first (really, I should've made time to buy the drinks prior to the party, but we didn't have anytime, and I was gonna go with Claire right before Sipz, but she came over late). But soon, we had drinks going, and then we started making margaritas when we realized we didn't have ice. Ben and Kyle went to go get Ice (so nice of them). Honestly, I thought someone would help with the birthday party planning *cough*Claire*cough* lol, I didn't technically ask her, but she did say she'd bring something, and I did post on the event for people to bring something. But, of course, no one did, lol. I really shouldn't rely on assumptions, lol. Anyway, the drinks were flowing, I played a game of beer pong against Omied and Mike, with Chris G. as my partner...and we totally kicked their asses! hahaha. After some mingling and such, we started up a game of King's Cup. It was super fun, we were playing by Claire's silly English rules :) We somehow didn't notice that the last King already went into play, and played through the entire deck, I think Joaquin ended up losing, but Ben, being the nicest person in the world, drank it for him, lol. At this point, Claire is far more drunk than I am, lol. I only got a bit tipsy, which was just want I wanted. I played another game of beer pong, this time with Claire as my partner, against Mike and Omied again. Claire is surprisingly amazing when she's drunk, lol. We, again, kicked their asses. In case Mike's reading this for some reason, despite your claims that you were just letting me win, Omied was CARRYING you the entire night. hahaha :)

Cake was eaten, more drinks were consumed. Overall, it was good fun :) Claire and I did shots with Chrissy (well, she wasn't drinking, but she's still in our picture). Nicole, Richard, and Michael were also there. Michael's so funny, he originally wasn't going to come to my bday celebrations, but instead ended up coming because he saw The Lovely Bones and it somehow changed his life, lol :) Overall, I'd say the party was quite the success!

Updates, Updates!

It has been forever since I've actually updated! My apologies, I've just been so crazy busy! So, let's go through the interesting stuff first...

Friday, May 7th:
After getting everything mostly packed, I left Kyle to finish everything up because I had to go to work. He tidied up the apartment, took out the trash and washed the dishes (mostly so stuff didn't sit around rotting all weekend, lol) and finished packing all the things I forgot to/didn't have time to...I had a really good day at work, cleaned the store top to bottom, made a bunch of sales, put up our big sign, reorganized the stock room...yes, I count that as a good day, lol. Our flight that my mom bought us left at 6:35pm...I don't get off work until 7pm...and it takes about 30mins to get to the airport, and considering you have to be at the airport at least an hr before your flight to go through security, I was about 90% sure we'd miss our flight. But that was mostly okay, because the next flight was at 7:15...so I know you're wondering why that's okay. It would've been fine because my boss' husband could come sit with her mom and help customers at least for the very end of the day, which would've happened naturally because he gets off of work and usually comes over here. So I told Kyle to come here around 6pm so that when he got there we could leave right away and maybe catch the flight (if there was NO line at security).

I was starting to realize how impossible that would be, so I sent Kyle a message telling him to start looking into flights Saturday morning, because unless the planets aligned, we were going to miss both of our flights. Just as I sent him that message, I get a text from Southwest that our flight had been delayed. I got really excited and checked, and the flight after ours was delayed too! The last flight was now at 8pm! Which was something we could definitely make! Brandon (Sadaf's husband) was really late compared to the time he normally gets to the shop...but I hadn't asked him to show up early, I was just assuming it would work out. So at around 6:45pm Sadaf's mom tells us we can go (she's such a sweetheart). We bolt over to the airport, instead of taking the 5 which would be crammed with traffic, Kyle found a faster side route. It was a bit risky considering we'd never taken it before, but it would get us there so much quicker, so we decided to take it.

We get over to the parking lot where we're leaving our car for the weekend, and they are taking FOREVER. Frustrated with their pure incompetency, Kyle reverses out of the parking lot and we decide to park in the airport parking lot, not caring it'll cost a bunch, just trying to make it on the flight. We speed walk over to the front desk, explain our situation, and the Southwest representative says there's a lot of openings for the flight and is totally confident we'll make the flight. We head over to security, and there's NO line!!! We're the only ones there, so the security guard is talking to Kyle about his hat and where he got it (lol?). Our gate is not super close by, but not crazy far away, we quickly walk over there, talk to the representative at the front desk, and he puts us on the flight. We're not in the same boarding group, but because we're flying Southwest, there aren't any assigned seats, so thanks to our apparent luck, we even get to sit next to each other. I don't think we've ever had that much good luck when it comes to airports, but I guess we were due for some, lol.

We stop in Oakland, and then continue onto Sacramento. We're playing Peggle on Kyle's computer and the guy in the seat next to Kyle is watching us play. It was kinda fun :) the flight attendants were super funny, and we even got extra peanuts. We land in San Diego, and I'm starving, I haven't eaten since about 12pm. Diego and Scott pick us up, we go pick up Sean, then we head over to Lucha Libre. I'd never been there before, but the guys always talk about it, and it was one of the few places open. We were just eating our food, I got the veggie burrito (super yummy) and then these total Cougars (straight out of Sex & The City) come into the restaurant. They somehow manage to get more alcohol from the guy behind the counter, but he says it's the last beers they'll give out that night. A few minutes pass by when all of a sudden, one of them walks over and asks us if we want 2 of their beers because they're so wasted and can't drink anymore (lol). They didn't look like they'd been drunk out of, so Kyle said sure, thanks. Seriously, they were pretty gross looking! They were in their late 40's early 50's, were dressed like they were 20, and had that kind of saggy really orange tan look. Ugh, only in SoCal! lol.

Broken Fingaz!

Broken Fingaz -Graffiti Stop Motion from Broken Fingaz on Vimeo.

Helvetica, you're a good friend to us all

Aqualung at The Triple Door!

For Valentine's day, Kyle bought us tickets to see Aqualung at the Triple Door downtown. Now, for those of you unfamiliar with Aqualung, Matt Hales pretty much=Aqualung, and he's fantastic. When he was 16 he won a music scholarship to Winchester College for music composition, and by 17 wrote his first symphony. He's incredibly talented/amazing. A couple of years ago, he retired...had a few kids, and missed/couldn't stop writing music. So he wrote a new album, and is now on tour again :)  I never saw him on tour prior to his resignation, so I was really excited, what a great present, especially since it also doubles as an early birthday present (my bday is in a week!) hehe :)

Given all that background info, and despite how excited I was for the show, and how much I was looking forward to it...we got our dates mixed up. I was CERTAIN the show was on Sunday, May 2nd. But, Kyle had just gotten out of the shower, his phone was ringing, and it was a call from the Triple Door asking if we were going to make it to the show, since it had started at 7 (it was like 7:20). He asks how far along the show is, and the opener Krista Polvere (who is adorable, you should look her up) had an hour long set, and with the intermission, Aqualung would be performing at 8:30. We quickly got ready and raced to the show, and made it with 15mins to spare :)

Kyle had reserved us a table (awww) but it was so packed and we got there so late, we shared a table with a nice couple and their baby (so adorable). The apologized ahead of time and said they hoped their baby wouldn't be a bother, we assured them that it was fine :) We ordered dinner (I wish I had taken a picture, because it was delicious), given it was a fancy place and we're poor college students (lol) we split the Thai Passion Tofu. It was phenomenal: fried tofu and eggplant in a yummy sauce, and fresh basil...simple, but elegant and amazing :) They had some fun sounding drinks, but given that I'm not 21 until next weekend, hah, I ordered the Iced Tea because it claimed to have hints of jasmine (which I love) and it was really good.

Aqualung came on and performed a lot of new stuff, but mixed in a few extra older goodies :) Krista performed with them every now and then when the song called for female vocals to be included...my recommendation is Thin Air, it's a beautiful song :) Matt Hales is just such a sweet guy, lol, and funny :)

The way the room is laid out was very loungey-feeling, and the group of people right below us nearly ruined my night. They were just the most obnoxious people...and whenever I'm at a seated show, I'm always stuck near people who seemingly don't know the artist, don't care about the music, and for some reason don't realize that the reason they have to yell to talk to their friends is because a musician is performing! It's so rude >.< I honestly wanted to tell them to be quiet, but I'm not a confrontational person, lol. Not only did they not clap in between his songs, it's extra rude/awkward when it's just Matt playing the piano and singing...there's no loud band to cover up them yelling to each other. It was super annoying, but whatever, some people are just assholes. The ironic thing is that we were sitting with a couple and a baby, but they weren't loud at all. The baby was either happily "dancing" (the parents were doing most of the dancing, lol) and "clapping", or sleeping...he didn't cry,  not once. Made fussy noises like once or twice, but the dad walked him around when that happened.

Anyway, we noticed that a line was forming after the show, and I was worried for the bathroom, it wasn't, we assumed just for merch/coat check or something...then we realized Matt and Krista were doing a meet-and-greet! We got in line, took pictures/talked to them, they were super nice. We told Matt we had $13 in cash to spend and asked what we could get, he said that the CDs were $15, and the mugs were $5, so we could get a couple of those. We said "hmmm, we could use a couple of mugs" and then he said that if we promised not to tell anyone else, we could get a CD at a special discount price, lol. How cool is that? Artists usually aren't that nice/cool, lol, and he signed it for us too :) What a nice guy...and what a nice night, even with that group of idiots who despite their best efforts, didn't ruin the night after all :)

(not the best picture, but for a little point and shoot, it doesn't look horrible, lol)
Krista! She's adorable & Australian :)
The great Matt Hales! It's nice to have you performing/writing music again! Welcome back :)
[the new album is Magnetic North, go listen to it/buy it]
