I want to be a Roller-Derby girl so bad!!!

It all started with Whip It! (the adorable movie starring Ellen Page, directed by Drew Barrymore Cameron Diaz)


And now, it's become a possible reality! There is the Rat City Girls, Seattle's Roller-Derby Girl League! They are hosting try-outs this Saturday...but you have to be 21 to join. Then there are the Tilted Thunder Rail Girls who are a new league currently being formed...they're doing banked track games as opposed to flat track races...but they're in the process of building their track. Well, in the process of raising money to build their track. 


So here's my plan: 

1. work-out/become relatively good at skating.
2. join the PMF practice squad
3. attempt to join either the Rat City Girls or the Tilted Thunder Rail Girls.
4. if all else fails, attempt to join the Jet City Bombers (they're located in Everett)
5. come up with a badass/cool nickname

Joining the Tilted Thunder Rail Girls would be super cool...especially considering they'll be the very first banked derby league...and since they're still in the process of getting up and going, I could be a part of one of the very first teams! :)  I'll keep you posted...but for now, think positive thoughts and wish me luck!
